The CTE Knowledge Graph

Every course custom-built. Every objective verified.

15,472 learning objectives mapped to state standards and industry certifications, recombined into a course designed for your program, your certifications, and your facilities. Where there is a gap, we generate it.

CTE Curriculum, Mapped One Objective at a Time

Core Learning Exchange (Core-LX) builds and maintains the CTE knowledge graph. Instead of selling a fixed catalog, we map career and technical education at the level of individual learning objectives and connect each one to the state standards, certification exam objectives, and AI-enabled lessons that teach it.

Because the building block is the objective, not the course, every customer gets a course designed for them: aligned to their standards and certifications, and fitted to their program requirements and the equipment in their labs.

Every objective in the graph is verified the same way. Our AI tutor interviews students Socratically, so mastery means a student can explain and apply what they learned, not that they clicked through it.

How a Custom Course Is Built

1. Map Your Requirements

Your state standards, target certifications, program design, schedule, and the equipment and facilities you actually have are mapped to objectives in the graph.

2. Assemble From the Graph

Partner content and Core-LX lessons that cover those objectives are assembled into your course, in the sequence your program needs.

3. Generate the Gaps

Any objective the graph does not yet cover is generated in StudioY as a new AI-enabled lesson, then added to the graph for future programs.

4. Review and Verify

All content is reviewed by AI for technical quality and accuracy, then validated by a human subject-matter expert. Students' mastery is verified through Socratic interviews.

Three Sources, One Standard of Verification

Every objective in your course comes from one of three sources. Wherever it comes from, the same AI tutor verifies that students have learned it.

Partner Content, Enhanced

Courses from our partner providers are delivered as published, with an AI overlay: a Socratic tutor that interviews students about what they studied and verifies their learning.

Core-LX Lessons, Fitted to You

Our own AI-enabled lessons can be regenerated to match your standards, your students' reading levels, your program requirements, and the equipment in your labs.

New Lessons, Generated on Demand

Where nothing in the graph covers an objective, we build it in StudioY. Gaps become new lessons instead of holes in your program.

What Coverage Looks Like

Coverage is measured against your requirements, not against our catalog. Every customer receives a coverage analysis like this one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a CTE knowledge graph?

A CTE knowledge graph maps career and technical education at the level of individual learning objectives rather than whole courses. The Core-LX knowledge graph connects 15,472 learning objectives to state CTE standards, industry certification exam objectives, and the 3,806 AI-enabled lessons that teach them. Because the unit is the objective, lessons can be recombined into a custom course for any program.

How does Core-LX build a custom CTE course?

Core-LX starts from your requirements: the state standards you teach to, the certifications your students sit for, your program design, and the equipment and facilities you actually have. Those requirements are mapped to objectives in the knowledge graph, and the course is assembled from partner content and Core-LX lessons that cover them. Any objective the graph does not yet cover is generated in StudioY. Every customer gets a course designed for their program.

What happens when existing content does not cover a standard?

Core-LX generates it. Gaps are filled with new AI-enabled lessons built in StudioY, reviewed by AI for technical quality and accuracy, and validated by a human subject-matter expert. The new lessons are added to the knowledge graph, so the graph grows with every course Core-LX builds.

How does Core-LX use content from partner publishers?

Content from Core-LX's partner providers is delivered as published and enhanced with an AI overlay: a Socratic tutor that verifies learning by interviewing students about what they studied. Core-LX's own lessons can also be regenerated to match a customer's standards, reading levels, program requirements, and facilities.

How is Core-LX content quality checked?

All Core-LX content is first reviewed by AI for technical quality and accuracy, then validated by a human subject-matter expert before it reaches students.

How does Socratic verification of learning work?

Instead of counting a lesson as complete when a student clicks through it, the Core-LX AI tutor asks the student to explain concepts, reason through scenarios, and apply what they learned. Mastery is recorded when the student demonstrates understanding in conversation. The same verification applies to every objective in the graph, whether the content came from a partner or from Core-LX.

Can a program use existing Core-LX courses as they are?

Yes. Ready-to-run courses across 15 career clusters for grades 6-14, mapped to 80+ industry certifications, can be used as published or adapted from the knowledge graph to fit your program.
